Curtis has been practicing as a Licensed Physical Therapist (LPT) for over 15 years. He holds a BS in Exercise Physiology and Physical Therapy from Ohio University. He is a Certified Functional Manual Therapist (CFMT) with the Institute of Physical Arts.

Continual education and certification efforts are a product of his unique dedication to staying on the cutting-edge of advances in the world of physical therapy and sports medicine.

Curtis has been an avid cyclist for more than 20 years and has spent thousands of hours on his bike. He is a nationally competitive mountain bike racer and races road bikes regionally. He has also ridden several multi-day long distance rides, including the 600-mile California AIDS Ride. Decades of experience with competitive cycling, extensive continuing education in manual and exercise therapy, and an expert coaching certification has given him a unique perspective on the challenges and benefits of being an athlete, particularly a cyclist.

Thanks to his cycling career, Curtis has also had plenty of personal experience with injury--and recovery, including herniated discs, knee disorders, neck injuries and a myriad of other injuries.  He strives to help his clients identify and reach their fitness, health and athletic goals by applying solid principles and extensive knowledge. Through dedication to his craft and careful attention to his clients, Curtis enjoys seeing positive results and strong gains, time and time again.

Curtis’s PT Philosophy
Curtis is masterful at helping clients improve their health, fitness and performance. Structure and Function are interdependent in the human form and he addresses both.

Susan K. Casto PT, DPT, CFMT

Susan holds a BS in Physical Therapy from CSU Fresno and a doctorate in Physical Therapy. She is a Certified Functional Manual Therapist (CFMT) with the Institute of Physical Arts. Susan also has training in Cranial-Sacral Therapy, and TMJ dysfunction and has completed training with Peter Edgelow, PT.

Susan became interested in Physical Therapy because of a friend who she admired. There happened to be a Physical Therapy program offered in Fresno, where she lived, and she was one of 10% of the applicants accepted that year. After graduating, Susan moved to the Bay Area, where she has raised her 2 children. She has also been employed in various Physical Therapy roles at Kaiser Permanente since 1987.
Susan also became interested in education and nearly has her teaching credential.

Susan’s PT Philosophy
Susan strongly believes that you are the best resource and advocate for your own health. Genetics are dealt to us at birth, but choices regarding environment, diet, stress, activity level, habits and outlook can result in real physiological changes in our bodies. Susan’s treatment philosophy revolves around treating underlying structural problems, not just the painful symptomatic area(s), and then instructing changes in the patient’s movement through exercise to help maintain progress.
